Remembrance Day 2017

Hello friends,

Today’s post will be different then my normal trip pictures with a little explanation. As you should all know, November 11th is Remembrance Day. I have been raised to appreciate and respect the purpose of today, as I hope all of you reading do.

Remembrance Day commemorates all those who have died in armed conflicts, particularly in and since World War I. November 11th marks the day that World War One ended. At 11 am on the 11th day of the 11th month back in 1918. At 11 am on November 11th, we stop what we are doing and take two minutes of silence in respect to these amazing men and women who have served.

Since I was born, I have been to a ceremony on this day and I am very happy I was raised to respect these men and women so much. I would not have wanted it any other way. I am so grateful for how my parents raised me.

I do not know how many of you reading this actually know what Remembrance Day is, but I hope this gave you an idea of why it is so important. Without those brave men and women fighting, this world would be a different place. If nothing else, today I hope you take two minutes of silence at 11 am today out of respect.

Lest we forget

  1. It’s very important to be grateful to people who have sacrificed their lives, especially when you think of the families who had to continue their lives without the emotional and financial support they once had.
