What makes a professional photographer?

Hello friends,

Today I wanted to show you some of the photography work I have done over the last 6 months or so. However, I wanted to make it blog post worthy (very debatable hehe), so here I am asking “What makes a professional photographer?”.

Now you can take this very rhetorical or you can for sure leave your understanding of what makes someone a professional in any industry. I have googled the definition of a professional, and two answers popped up:

  1. relating to or belonging to a profession
  2. engaged in a specified activity as one’s main paid occupation rather than as a past time

Now, here I have googled the definition of a professional photographer:

“A professional photographer is a photographer who earns 100% of his income from photography. This is the definition required for entrance into the secret Nikon and Canon factory support organizations. Amateur Photographer. People who earn less than 50% of their income from photography are amateurs.”

In conclusion, I do not believe I am a professional photographer however I do have experience with paying clients which is lovely. I have left a few photos below from some of my favourite shoots. I hope you enjoy them 🙂

I had to add this one –> not every photoshoot with twins turning 1 goes well!

….and yes I have everyones consent to share their photos on my blog don’t you worry! Do you have a favourite?

I will share future photoshoots with you all! If you want to see a better look into my portfolio you can click here for my photography page.

Until next time,

xx

  1. Hi Phoenix. I have to say the twins birthday pic makes me laugh and reminds me of life. A long time ago my daughters received a Christmas present of dress up clothes from their auntie Carol just before we were about to leave to have Christmas photos done. Well off came the beautiful Christmas dresses and I now have one Christmas picture of them in dress up clothes. Although I wasn’ impressed at the time, dad said leave them decide. Looking back I wouldn’t change a thing. I still love that picture. Real life. ❤️
