September Recap 2018

September Recap 2018

Hello friends,

September was a crazy month for me! It began in Massey, Ontario while I was on vacation visiting family. Probably one of the best ways for a month to start! haha Relaxing before the craziness that September was.

As you may or may not know, I went back to school this fall. I registered in a completely different program than I am use to taking. It was, and still is, a scary thing to do but I have survived so far! Science is what I am used too, I have a degree in Environmental Science and what I am taking now is a Design Studies Certificate, which is an Arts program! From my experience so far, I am not sure if it is so much that the art world is extremely different from science or if its College that is so different from University. I think I will have a future post on my views of College vs University. I feel like everyone should understand this difference and the benefits of each before choosing where to attend!

So with being back at school after a year off and still working a part time job with doing homework as well, you can say I am as busy as a bee! Its a lot of work but I am actually loving it. I have always loved the world of design and this design studies certificate is really opening my eyes to all the possibilities that are out there for possible future careers. A lot of people think wow why would you ever take this schooling when you already have a science degree? My answer: because you need a well rounded perspective in life to succeed. Having the knowledge in science, but also being able to understand the creative process is something I wish everyone had the chance to learn.

Anyways, enough with the rant. I also began trying new gym classes in September. I went to my first ever pilates class – me and a bunch of older people. To be honest I thought there would be more people my age there! haha Even the beginner pilates class was decently challenging. I also continued to do my hot yoga practices – something I need to put more time into it is just hard with a busy schedule to fit a gym class in at a certain time, but that is no excuse!

The last thing in September that made my month oh so busy was my best friends wedding! I was her maid of honour and man was it a busy time – I couldn’t even imagine how busy she was. Even though weddings take up a lot of time, are expensive, and stressful – I would not have changed anything. The bride was stunning on her special day and her husband was a mazing at the ceremony. I wish them all the best! Now they are in Vegas! Can you say jealous? haha

The beautiful bride and her amazing husband!
The bridesmaids -such a great group of gals!
My dad who was the behind the scenes photographer with his iphone! haha He did a pretty good job!
The beautiful bride seconds before she walked down the isle!
The beautiful bride and I after I bawled my eyes out after saying my maid of honour speech!

Not to worry folks – these are already posted all over social media haha I cannot wait to see the professional ones! We were outside in 0 degrees Celcius for hours taking pictures in these dresses and open toe shoes!

So Alberta has already gotten snow a few times however nothing has really stuck on the ground.Β  To be honest I am happy that we haven’t gotten any in Ontario yet! I am ready for fall, but not snow!

Ill update you guys again on how my October month goes if you’d like. I know school is getting busier – the projects are larger and more time consuming every week and now we have extra events to go to as well as a field trip to a museum in Montreal! I also have so many fall activities I want to do too! There is never enough time.

How was your September month? Did you have any big events that happened? Let me know in the comments below πŸ™‚

The Journey to Fort Smith Continues | Part 2

The Journey to Fort Smith Continues | Part 2

Hello friends,

Today I bring to you the continuation of my ice road adventures! If you haven’t seen part 1 you can click here!

DSC_5373

Alright so we left off right after lunch on the first day. We crossed back over the frozen stretch of water to continue north to Fort Smith, NWT. Still a very snowy day, but we were on the lookout for wildlife!

In this field, my mom spotted a fox, or something, moving in the distance. It was snowing too heavy for a good long distance shot, but eventually me and my dad both saw it! haha My mom has such good eyes for wildlife.

DSC_5376

This part of the drive was definitely more stressful then the first half and I wasn’t even driving! The road was much more narrow and the scariest part wasn’t that we were driving on ice, it was the fact that now we were driving on winding roads through forested areas. Now it was beautiful for sure, however there are large trucks that just barrel down these roads, so you had to be careful coming around corners.

DSC_5386

DSC_5379

These pictures make the road look wider then it was! haha if you look closely though you can see that the majority of the tire tracks are all in the same spots and with the trees being so tall, you cannot see a thing coming at you.

DSC_5383

After driving for sometime, we crossed over another frozen body of water. At this point driving on water in a loaded down truck is getting less scary haha

DSC_5392

We could kind of see blue skies starting but it was still snowing constantly, which was fine because in the winter I love when it snows, but it also made it harder to spot wildlife!

DSC_5414

These are the signs on the other side of the frozen water. As you can see, there are strict bridge rules to follow! Even if there are no police out here to catch you! However, I assume most people respect these rules seeing as it would obviously only hurt you if you were to speed on this ice and god forbid break through or something….

DSC_5409

Oh and apparently this is also a public parking area, you know if you wanted to just chill and hangout here in the middle of nowhere for a while πŸ™‚ We saw one car parked there and it seemed like it had been there for a while! lol Not a hot spot for hanging out I guess.

DSC_5401

Anyways back into the bush we went! 172 km and we are in Fort Smith! woo lets go!

If you were driving normal speed we would have been there in no time haha funny story about this picture actually. I wanted to get the perfect shot (well as good as I could with what I was working with) and so I kicked a coffee cup out from behind the sign so there was no garbage in my picture. The fact that there was a random coffee cup laying on the ground out here really irks me though. Like who would think littering was a good idea instead of just keeping it in your car until there is a garbage can eh?

DSC_5407

I don’t know if you can see it, but there is a winding road sign as well as the speed limit through here is 40 MAX! “Take er slow boys!”

DSC_5415

By this time we are getting closer to our destination and our eyes were peeled looking for wood bison. We kept seeing all these tracks everywhere and then we saw this! A herd must have been all huddled up on this mound recently. Just seeing this was cool, but I wanted to actually see one!

DSC_5416

DSC_5421

When we got to this sign, my mom was like “take a picture because its the only one we will see” haha So I did thinking that she may be right.

And low and behold literally 2 seconds later we saw this on the side of the road. At first, we pulled over because there was a couple trucks pulled over on the shoulder and we thought maybe there was some bison in this valley area.

Well, I am sure there was, but not anymore! What you see in those two smaller pictures above are hunters and a bison….yup I am sure you can guess what happened here. Now it was a unique experience to see this but I still would of rather the bison been alive! They do use literally every part of it though, and one of these bad boys will feed a small village! It is extremely interesting to see different cultures, especially when its just a few hours north of where you live.

IMG_9578

So shortly after seeing the hunters we reached our destination. Literally like the only hotel here haha The back of the truck was packed with snow from the road. My parents said that last year the entire back of the truck was covered with a good couple inches of solid snow. It stayed on there even after we opened the back up and closed it! haha

This night we had a lovely meal at the Chinese restaurant in our hotel. One of the few places to eat here. And they had vanilla ice cream with strawberry sauce which was to die for.. just an FYI if you ever eat there πŸ˜‰

I will be back soon to continue the story of this very cool trip so stay tuned!

Until next time,

xoxo

We drove on Ice?! |Part 1

We drove on Ice?! |Part 1

Hello friends,

Todays post is going to be explaining the beginning of my adventures on the Winter Road. This is the road that we took to get from Fort McMurray, AB to Fort Chipewyan, AB and then further north to Fort Smith, NWT. It ends up being around a 9 hour drive one way. If you were to go at normal highway speed obviously it would be a lot quicker, but this road was not meant for racing haha

Since this is a winter road only, it does close down in the Spring of each year. Right now you would not be able to do this trip because the roads are mostly, if not all, melted. There is a list of things that you must have to drive on this road, just in case anything happens. Here is a couple for examples:

  • Good snow tires
  • Shovel and road flares
  • A good/complete tool kit and tow rope
  • Spare heavy duty winter clothing and footwear
  • Extra food and at least a 24 hour supply of fuel

If you want to see the whole list you can click here.

DSC_5293

For the first little while you are actually driving on sand dunes. Last year when my parents went, there wasn’t much snow so they could actually see them. When we went this year, there was quite a bit of snow but you could still see the sand along the banks and on the road.

DSC_5310

The picture up above shows the sand in the snow, but it is also the first body of water that we drove across! I was terrified haha I know it is just a little stretch and obviously other vehicles have gone across it, but it is still scary! I found the road more active then I was anticipating. We saw other vehicles often enough that if you broke down, someone would eventually come along. Unless it happened at night, they recommend you don’t drive on this road at night due to it being unsafe.

There is also lots of wildlife on this road – I wish we would have seen more haha and caught more of what we did see on camera! This area is home to many Wood Bison which you can see in herds throughout the day if you are lucky or if you are out wandering the road at night you may run into one! Literally. They sometimes sleep standing up in the middle of the road and if it is snowing their coat will get covered in snow and they will blend right in! And these aren’t little guys, they will do some serious damage to your vehicle! The only way you can really spot them at night is if you see their eyes reflect the light from your vehicle. We were not lucky enough to see any living Wood Bison in their natural habitat. Actually according to a few locals, we just missed the herd!

We saw lots of owls and ptarmigan on the trip though.

DSC_5317DSC_5335DSC_5347

Our first stop on day one was Fort Chip for some lunch – just a little reminder, if you ever do decide to do this trip, bring lots of food because the farther North you go, the more expensive it gets!

DSC_5349

To get into Fort Chip, you drive across a very long frozen body of water and as soon as you get to the other side, you are in the Canadian Shield and the forest is so different! I thought that was pretty cool haha anyways, on this stretch of ice road only one vehicle is allowed to go at a time and I believe the speed limit was 15 km/h. So very slow! My dad rolled down the windows because the last time they came they could hear the ice cracking under them! That terrified me and luckily I didn’t hear anything this trip!

DSC_5364DSC_5366DSC_5362DSC_5365

Up above is all pictures of Fort Chip. Very snowy when we went and it is just a little place! Such a tiny community and when we were in one of the two restaurants in the town, everyone knew each other haha small communities are cool like that.

So once we ate lunch, and looked around a bit we headed back out to get to our final destination!

DSC_5370

Side note: I thought this sign was pretty cool … more stories attached to this in later posts! πŸ˜‰

DSC_5372

So off to the Fort Smith we went….ready for another slow (extremely bumpy) drive!

Have you ever driven on an Ice Road before? If so where was it and did you enjoy the experience?! Keep an eye out for future blog posts continuing the story of this trip!

Until next time,

xoxo

Vermilion Lakes Road | Banff, AB

Vermilion Lakes Road | Banff, AB

Hello friends,

I have been to Banff, Alberta Canada many times and have always seen this road called “Vermilion Lakes Rd” right before you pass the large BANFF sign entering into the town. I always thought, hmm whats down there but never went! So on a very cold day in December we decided to head down it.

It was my parents and myself in the truck slowly making our way down the road. At the beginning of this day my mom made me get in between them in the middle seat of the front of the truck… it was fun for about a whole 5 minutes until I started to cramp up! haha I am not a tall person, but I do have longer legs and bad joints so you could only imagine how sitting with your knees around your ears wold feel like!

By the time we got to this road I had transferred to the back of the truck, much more comfortable! Now this way I could shuffle around in the back seat popping out of any window I pleased. In this fancy truck of my dads the back windows rolled down too, which was very convenient for getting shots!

DSC_4564

So most of the lake was frozen , but as we would drive along we found a few “natural hot springs” where the water was open. I thought these were so cool, even though I have learned all about them in school haha everything about nature still amazes me! In these springs too there were little duckies! So cute!

DSC_4562

He looked so out of place though with all the snow around him! It was like his flock left him behind 😦

DSC_4559

Now, the road wasn’t too narrow, but also wasn’t very wide with the amount of snow on the “shoulders”. It was quite comfortable when you were the only vehicle on it, and got a wee bit tight once there was one coming the other direction, which really I think there was only one or two.

As we kept driving we came across this massive natural hot spring! I don’t know if the picture does it justice. We could literally see the steam coming off of it.

DSC_4578

DSC_4579

DSC_4580

It froze all the shrubs that bordered the waters edge.

DSC_4582

DSC_4586

I love the look of crisp frozen vegetation. I guess this is one of the perks of living in a place where it can get so cold!

DSC_4596

DSC_4604

Now, these next pictures come with a story! haha so I don’t know if you know this, but as people age they become a bit … well entertaining to say the least. (love you parents hahah πŸ™‚ ) So my mom has always loved cattails. Every time when we drove across Canada in the summer when I was younger, heading back home to Ontario, I always remember her making my dad stop so she could grab a few cattails.

DSC_4611

So what do you think she did when she saw all of those! “Howard go get me a cattail!”

And out he got! haha into the -25 degree weather to go get his “lovely bride” as he calls her, a cattail!

DSC_4602

But it doesn’t stop at just getting her one. It needs to be absolutely perfect. So as you can see, he is inspecting them before he made a decision on which one to bring back! Because he knew that if it wasn’t good enough, he would be back out there.

He couldn’t decide on one, so he came back with multiple … smart man.

DSC_4567

I nag my parents a lot, but they are he best people to go on a day drive with and find these cool places to take pictures of ❀

DSC_4570

And with that another post comes to an end. Have any of you ever seen natural hot springs in the winter? Or better yet been to any?! I love the natural hot springs πŸ™‚

  • Nominate 5-10 recently followed bloggers and share your post with them so they see it!

3and3quarters.net_

Q&A Time!Β

  1. If you could pick any age to be again what age would it be and why? I would pick to go back to when I was 7 or 8? The age you were in grade 3! haha I would love to go back to that age because firstly I miss being a kid lol but I also had a great teacher that year, Madame Jenkins. At Christmas time (my most favourite time of year, as you all very well know) she had this amazing book of christmas gnomes. She would read us a chapter everyday until break. I had never loved school that much haha story time was the best!
  2. Name one of your most embarrassing moments?Β Now let me just say, I have had quite a few haha but for now I will settle with sharing just one… to save you all from cringing too much! I grew up doing competitive gymnastics and probably around age 6 I would say, this embarrassing moment happened. I was wearing my brand new vibrant pink gym suit that had a checkered pattern on it, which I called my picnic basket suit lol, for the first time. And lucky for me, it was one of those training sessions where the ENTIRE gym does a warm up together … yup keep that in your mind. So I thought I should pee before we start! So I went to the bathroom which is right beside the main floor where everyone was, and little me forgot to lock the door. Now, with gymnastic suits you need to completely strip when you pee, oh the joy πŸ™‚ And yup you bet it happened … one of the older coaches opened up the door on me and I was exposed to the entire club! I was devastated …. little to say I didn’t wear that suit for a long time!
  3. What is one place you would love to visit and why?Β I would absolutely love to visit New York in the winter time. Specifically around Christmas! Now, I know this may be very “basic” or whatever, but it would make my heart so happy! To see all their decorations and lights! πŸ™‚ I just picture myself in the movie ELF haha one day I will check this off my list!
  4. If you could only pick one food item to eat for the rest of your life, what would it be?Β Now this is a hard one! I love food #foodie ❀ but I think I might have to go with pizza? I make a mean homemade pizza and its always so good! So maybe? But I also love a good hearty bowl of homemade spag! (spag = spaghetti …. whaddup father unit (aka Howard) <– probably makes the best sauce)
  5. What is your favourite thing about blogging?Β I love many things about blogging, but my favourite thing at the moment would have to be the little community I have made on here! I have made great friends and I always look forward to our little chats in the comment section!
  6. What is your current favourite song to listen to? This is difficult because, as my sister knows oh too well, I am terrible at knowing song names or artists lol I can’t even think of any right off the top of my head that I know! sorry πŸ˜› I do like a mix of a lot of music though, with my favourite being old rock, country (grew up in Alberta I can’t help it!), and acoustic/contemporary.
  7. What can you binge watch all day?Β 100% Greys Anatomy all the way. I love that show! I also absolutely love The Office though hah there is never an episode where you aren’t crying because you are laughing too hard!
  8. Name one of your biggest pet peeves?Β I have a couple but one of them is people who chew with their mouth open! I cannot stand it!
  9. So far what have you done for the day?Β  Well today is Friday and I am off work for the day which is nice! I woke up, worked out, ate breakfast, showered, got ready, and now I am at Starbucks writing this!
  10. Which season is your favourite and why?Β Well if Christmas was a season itself I would say that, but it isn’t lol. So I would have to say summer. I grew up being outside 24/7 and it makes me appreciate having a few months (more then a few months if you don’t live in Canada haha) where you can do that everyday!

Phew! I am finally done the questions!

My questions for the nominees are:Β

  1. Do you have any pets? If so, what do you have and if not what pet would you like?
  2. Where were you born and where are you currently living?
  3. What do you believe is your greatest life accomplishment so far?
  4. What is your best childhood memory?
  5. What is your favourite sweet treat?
  6. What are 2 goals you have set for yourself this year?
  7. What is your dream job and what are you doing to get yourself there?
  8. If you could have a conversation with anyone, dead or alive, who would it be?
  9. Why did you start blogging?
  10. Tropical vacation, snowy vacation, or alpine vacation and why?

Now for the nominees! Here we go, I tag:Β Rebecca Rose, Miss Andrada, Bryanna Sherbo, The Untitled One, and Sarah Scarr!Β If you would like to read their responses to these questions I have linked all their blogs with their names! πŸ™‚

I hope you all enjoyed this post and getting to know me a bit better! Nominees you are tagged so get blogging! Friends in the comment section, feel free to answer some or all of the questions too, I would love to hear your answers!

Have a fabulous weekend friends πŸ™‚

Until next time,

A Herd of Elk in Banff | AB, Canada 2017

A Herd of Elk in Banff | AB, Canada 2017

Hello friends,

I am sitting here today in a coffee shop staring at my screensaver on my laptop. It is of the herd of elk my boyfriend and I spotted in Banff! This was on our very first morning there and it was incredible.

All throughout growing up I have seen so much wildlife. I was very fortunate to grow up on the greenbelt in Fort McMurray, AB (back when the city was still quite small) where we got to see a variety of wildlife through our kitchen window. It came to a point where my dad would say “Girls! Come down here there are deer in the backyard!” and we were like ya ya we know haha Its the same thing for the Northern Lights; I never realized that most people don’t ever see them in their life. We would get out of the old purple safari van coming home from gymnastics late at night and see the Northern Lights before we went inside the house! So casual and common for us!

Anyways, back to the elk! Like you would have read in one of my latest posts (linked here if you haven’t read it), we got up early to drive to Canmore so I could take pictures of the sunrise, but sadly it was snowing out and the sky was pure white all day. So we went driving around. On our way driving to Two Jack Lake we saw a car pulled over and we were trying to see if they were looking at wildlife, however we couldn’t see any so we just kept going. Now on the way back though, that same vehicle was parked there! They were probably parked there for 20 mins or so. And now I understood why! haha There was a herd of elk back in the trees all lying down and sleeping! It was so adorable and surreal to see!

DSC_4476

So of course I was like “pull over pull over pull over!!” and the boyfriend obliged and did so πŸ™‚

DSC_4462

And voila! I got these pictures that you see! I am oh so happy I had my new lens with me or else these would not have turned out as good. Because if you know anything about wildlife, you need to give them their space. Now as a photographer, sometimes that is very difficult to do because you are so fascinated with everything and want all the pictures at every different angle possible. However,Β  I was respectful to them and left lots of room.

DSC_4500

Now I will tell you about this carload of people though… they were not too smart. So first of all, they had iphones as their cameras, which is all fine and dandy but the zoom is quite .. well shitty to say the least πŸ™‚ So this lady got out with her little iphone and was walking towards this massive herd of elk, like so close I was actually scared for her! The herd was in the bush right, so we can only see however many they want us to see. There was probably so many more further back in the bush too.

DSC_4495
One of my favourite pictures

Now in Banff, if you ever go, you will be one of these touristy people and maybe not from Canada too. Banff has so many tourists from all over the world who have no clue how to act with these very large animals. Which is more so sad for the animals then the idiot people. But I will just give you some advice if you are ever in this situation, go ahead and take pictures if you want but give them their space. Never go sticking an iphone in their face because you don’t know how they are going to react!

DSC_4488

Anyways, I got back into the car and my hands were frozen so I had to sit on them and let them warm up before I checked if I got any decent pictures haha and I did so I was like okay babe we can go now. And he was like “no, I want to see how this plays out” haha talking about the iphone tourist!

DSC_4452

But we did not end up staying, I made him leave eventually. After this adventure we went into town and got small gloves I could wear while taking pictures in -25 degrees because holy cow do your hands ever freeze! And I can’t wear my big knitted mitts when I take pictures or else I will hit every button on the camera.

DSC_4498

DSC_4459
This was the main little part of the herd that was showing themselves in the more open coverage.

I felt so lucky to have been able to see these beautiful animals in their natural state. If you ever do go to Banff and you go for a drive I guarantee you will see some animals so have your camera ready.

Have you guys ever been to Banff or seen elk where you live? I would love to know in the comments!

Until next time,

xoxo

Merry Christmas! | 2017

Merry Christmas friends!

I hope your day was full of family, friends, food & cheer!

Processed with VSCO with hb1 preset

This was our first Christmas together. We got a tree and decorations from Canadian Tire (the most Canadian store ever besides The Real Canadian Superstore hahaha which is where we get our groceries from #CanadianAF) and then my mom bought me a few beautiful flowers for it as well and brought up a few decorations that she had set aside for me. We got our stockings from Walmart #onabudget and then we were all set!

Processed with VSCO with hb1 preset

A close up of our tree! We went with a more rustic/gold theme but I know with more years to come, my tree will look more like my moms…just a whole bunch of ornaments that have memoriesΒ  behind them πŸ™‚ Honestly, I cannot wait for those days even though I know my OCD will not like it!

Processed with VSCO with hb2 preset

This morning I made homemade cinnamon buns! My first time ever and they were delicious! (you can even ask my boyfriend…he ate 2!)

Processed with VSCO with hb2 preset

Fresh out of the oven, I lathered on homemade cream cheese frosting. Best Decision Ever!

Processed with VSCO with hb2 preset

And breakfast was served! Not nutritious what so ever, but its Christmas! If you aren’t stuffed full of sugary sweets by 10 am you did something wrong!

Processed with VSCO with hb2 preset

Once we were done breakfast and presents I went and got ready. It was our first Christmas without our parents (going home to see them on Christmas break from school) so my boss asked us if we wanted to come over form Christmas dinner. We said yes, of course! She has a lovely family and who could say no to great company on Christmas! This was also my first Christmas where I ate dinner in real clothes! Normally I am in my pj’s all day!

Dinner was at 1 pm and we stayed until 4:30 pm or so. Now we have just been hanging out in our pj’s all night and having some wine (well wine for me … beer for the boy) and watching The Office. One of the greatest shows of all time, so you should definitely check it out, its on Netflix! I eventually went and took a relaxing bath and then Jacob got to play his video game like a little child πŸ™‚

Now I am writing this to you my friends because I wanted to share my Christmas with you and wish you a blessed one as well. I hope you have enjoyed time with loved ones and your tummies are full of good food! Let me know how your day went if you want in the comments below, I would love to hear about what you got up too!

Processed with VSCO with hb1 preset

Merry Christmas! You will hear from me again before the new year don’t you worry!

P.S I love you mom and dad, see you soon ❀

Until next time,

Christmas Blessings | 2017

Christmas Blessings | 2017

Hello friends,

Todays post will be about all the many things I feel blessed for. Christmas is absolutely my favourite time of the year, even though it is snowy and cold outside! I got the post idea from Susie Lindau’s Wild Ride, click here for her post!

I thought to myself as I was reading her post, wow this is such a great idea to write about around Christmas time. I feel like so many people say what they are thankful for around thanksgiving, but during Christmas everyone is so busy it is easy to forget what it is really about. Now I love Christmas lights and decorations so I can get distracted by those around this time of the year, but it really is not about any of that. And believe it or not, Christmas is not about gifts either. However, I understand that giving gifts is a way of showing love towards another person, but we cannot get caught up in them!

Christmas is truly about being around your family and celebrating life and love and the joy that this season brings. So without any more delay, here are some of the things I feel very blessed to have in my life:

I feel very blessed to have my amazing family, boyfriend & friends in my life …

IMG_6447
My lovely older sister πŸ™‚

My man πŸ˜‰

My friends πŸ™‚

My parents of course!Β

And you can’t forget about the fur babies too!

I feel very blessed to be in such good health

DSC_3079.jpg

And for the roof over my head at night and food in my belly.

I feel very blessed to be surrounded by the beauty of the rockies just an hour away

DSC_4097DSC_3537dsc_2141

And all of the wildlife I have been able to see my entire life.

DSC_4073DSC_3543 (1)DSC_3436

I feel so blessed that I have been able to travel even though I am so young and just starting out.

DSC_4176DSC_3214DSC_2865DSC_2783

I hope you enjoyed this little post and let me know in the comments below what you feel blessed for this Christmas year. Also, some of these pictures may not be the best quality, but that is not what this post is really about πŸ™‚

Until next time,

My New Lens!

My New Lens!

Hello friends,

Todays post will be about an early Christmas gift from my parents! I cannot tell you how extremely excited I am about this particular gift! It is by far my favourite one I have ever gotten I believe. They let me pick out a new lens for my camera and bought it for me. I am so very grateful for them and their generosity to help me continue to pursue my passion.

So I am not sure if I have ever mentioned this before, but the camera I use to take most of the shots you’ve seen is a Nikon D7000. Now I do have two lenses, which are over 4 years old now. I have an 18-105 mm and a 10-20 mm lens. Now I usually use the 18-105 mm one because it allows me to zoom more then my other one.

So for my grade 12 graduation my parents got me this brand new camera because I had a very mediocre one before and I loved taking photos. Little did they know that I would fall in love with photography. Throughout the last four years, my mom always asked me if I wanted a new lens for my birthday or christmas and I said no “I will let you know when I have out grown these ones”. And folks .. that time has come!

My new lens is on the left. It doesn’t look too much larger here but you just wait!

So lets welcome my new baby into the family! Sorry about these pictures of the lens though.. I had to use my iphone haha

I just wanted to once again thank my parents for this amazing gift. I definitely would not be as knowledgeable about photography as I am today without their support. ❀ πŸ™‚

The next post you see with pictures will be with my new lens! Let me know if you guys can see the difference between the two!

Until next time,

xoxo
