Strawberry Picking | Ottawa 2018

Strawberry Picking | Ottawa 2018

Hello friends,

This past Saturday my boyfriend and I did one of the best things you can do in the summer, especially if you live in Ontario – pick fresh strawberries.

Now I don’t know how many of you have ever done this before, but it is fantastic. If you have never tried a fresh, farm picked strawberry what are you doing with yourself?!

DSC_7877

Shouldiceย (click here to get to their website) was the farm we went too. I believe they have three locations in Ottawa, Ontario. Their strawberries were delicious, so I would recommend trying there farm, although I haven’t tried any of the other farms yet to compare!

DSC_7875

When we turned in there was this little Canadian sign saying drive through to the strawberries! So we did exactly that. As we rolled up I was getting very excited haha I felt like a little kid at my grandparents camp again.

Honestly, I don’t know why more adults don’t do this! It is great and youthful!

DSC_7878

At the end of it my boyfriend actually told me he was happy I made him go and we both thought it was a cute little date idea! So ladies and gents, there you go, dating advice from me: bring your lady or man to a hot field on a +35 degree day and make them bend over, drip sweat and pick berries without squishing them! If you want to make them work even more, tell them you’re picking clean – no stems!

DSC_7867

We ended up just getting a small basket because we assumed it took a long time to fill and lets be honest, my boyfriend is quite pasty for the hot sun! However, it took no time at all to fill. These little plants were loaded I tell you.

Some may say, well why would you pay that much for strawberries when you have to pick them yourself? The answer is simple; because they are incredibly delicious, easy to pick, and actually a very good price for the massive amount that you get!

DSC_7853

At the beginning of each row there were orange flags. The two girls who you pay told us to pick a row and move the flag with you as you go. This way they know what rows have been picked and how far down you went! I thought this was a very clever idea since I actually never thought about how they kept track of that before!

So if you had any questions, no its not a free for all, trample the berries and pick sporadically! Its very well maintained and kept track of.

DSC_7835DSC_7836

Quite a few people were out while we were, but we chose a row farther down to enjoy our time out there rather then rubbing butts with our neighbour while bending to grab a berry!

DSC_7837DSC_7842

I don’t even think these pictures do them justice. They were so good!

DSC_7861

Once our basket was full we headed out of the field and to the car. We overheard the girls saying they will be open for a few more weeks, so if you are in the mood to go I would go soon! Once the berries are gone, picking season if over!

DSC_7874

Its safe to say that we ate these for dessert on Saturday night. Almost the whole container too! They are so sweet – like natures candy.

DSC_7869

Have you ever been strawberry picking? If you haven’t I highly recommend you go! It is a great activity for all ages and it is an awesome way to support local farmers!

Canadians in the UK | 2018

Canadians in the UK | 2018

Hello friends,

We made it. My parents and I got to the United Kingdom from the far away land where maple syrup grows.

We took a taxi from the Heathrow Airport in London, to a small airbnb – more on the outskirts of London. I must say, it was very much what I expected London to look like. If you have ever seen movies based in the United Kingdom they are pretty spot on.

It was extremely terrifying though to be driving on the wrong side of the road – and I will let you know that it didn’t feel any better doing it on day 10 of the trip either! It feels so wrong, just like when someone is walking on the wrong side of the sidewalk! Also, the lanes, oh my gosh, the road lanes are so tiny! They just barley fit the vehicles driving by – it looks like everyone is about to side swipe each other.

Anyways, we finally arrived at the air bnb after my parents and I nearly had a heart attack on the way there! A very nice lady greeted us and showed us around. She also complimented all four of us on our teeth, which we thought was a weird compliment but we took it! I didn’t take any pictures of her air bnb to keep her privacy, but it was lovely!

Everything felt miniature in her house. The kitchen was actually a decent size though compared to other ones we saw. The staircase was extremely narrow, if you didn’t duck half way down too, you’d hit your head! Once we dropped off our bags we decided to head out for a stroll and to grab some dinner.

My dad always wants to be the photographer!

DSC_6200

I quickly noticed that everything was covered in mould or moss! Obviously this is due to their climate, but it was something that I have never noticed anywhere I went before.

Royal Mail! I guess when you live where the Queen is you have Royal Mail not any old normal mail. No sir.

DSC_6189

So, if you think I was exaggerating about the size of the lanes think again. This was actually a pretty common sign I saw in the UK.

DSC_6192

There were usually cars parked on both side of these roads too, so you can imagine how tight it is for one car to get through let alone two way traffic! All of our drivers drove very fast, but somehow we managed to make it!

DSC_6160

Here is a good example of what most residential roads looked like, as well as, the residential housing. Well, I shouldn’t just say residential because it looked like this everywhere. Little shops were all connected and same with the restaurants. If there were walkways in-between buildings they were tiny!

DSC_6124DSC_6130-2DSC_6154-2

Next we came across this very old church. The history in London is absolutely amazing. The tombstones dated back a few hundred years. We tried to find the oldest one, but I can’t remember what the date was on it!

DSC_6153-2

The red door was beautifully in tact and stood out from a distance against the dull surrounding colours.

DSC_6150-2

The grass was also very vibrant against the grey sky! There was also flowers everywhere, which brightened the dull day.

DSC_6143-2DSC_6142-2

Are you a person who gets creeped out by old churches and graveyards or do you enjoy them?

Exploring the Northwest Territories | Part 3

Exploring the Northwest Territories | Part 3

Hello friends,

Click the links below if you haven’t read parts 1 and 2 yet!

We drove on Ice?! |Part 1

The Journey to Fort Smith Continues | Part 2

So, the adventure continues. Today was our only full day to explore the Northwest Territories and we definitely did just that. Once we all woke up, we headed downstairs to the same Chinese restaurant for breakfast. And no, we did not have Chinese food for breakfast I know all of you were thinking that, we had normal eggs and other breakfasty foods. It actually wasn’t too bad, except my mom tried multiple blueberry jams for her toast and they were all rock solid! Good thing I like raspberry jam on mine! haha

DSC_5434
Passed through a four way stop on our way to the other side of town. I had to take a picture because I though it was really unique that they had all the local languages on it.

DSC_5442

With full bellies and a charge camera battery we were off. First we drove around the town of Fort Smith, mind you its not very big so it didn’t eat up too much of the day! We came to the “far” side of town (literally 2 minute drive from the side we were on) and came up to this beautiful view.

DSC_5443

Looking off into the distance you could see how the ice wasn’t completely solid, which kind of sketched me out thinking that we have to drive on ice to get home! haha

DSC_5444

It was still snowing this morning however the sun was trying to peak through the clouds, which it eventually did later in the day.

DSC_5445

The place we stopped at was also where the kids come to snowboard, which I thought was pretty cool! They made a little terrain park for themselves and had it all set up nicely. I guarantee those kids would come home dead and exhausted after being here for a few hours. Snowboarding down would be loads of fun, but if you haven’t noticed yet there is no chairlift or magic carpet to bring them back up to the top!

DSC_5446

They set up a pretty big jump at the bottom of the main hill here, and if you picked up enough speed I think you would launch right into the bush!

DSC_5437

DSC_5448

While we were still in that area, we drove down the little road to the water. People do live on that island out there, and one would think hmm there are no roads to get there so how do they come into town? If you scroll down through these pictures you will see that there are little trees on the ice as markers of where the “safe” ice is to come across on. This also helps to mark their path when it is snowing heavily.

DSC_5453DSC_5452DSC_5459

Below you can see the path more clearly that people use. Everyone in these little towns drives quads or skidoos and things like that. Which makes sense to get across ice easier and drive around the small town.

DSC_5457

Once done exploring the town, we decided to drive down the highway looking for wildlife, hoping to spot something really cool….like wild wood bison (spoiler: the finding bison thing didn’t happen). I believe it was only like an hour and a bit into the drive and two massive wolves came flying out of the forest, bounded through the deep snow, crossed the road and disappeared into the bush on the other side. It was an awe struck moment and I didn’t get any pictures of them!! I was actually like a crushed kid on Christmas morning that didn’t get the toy they wanted. I stupidly tried shooting through the trucks front window with a million cracks in it (#Albertawindshield) and my camera freaked out, it was the first time in all my life getting an error message on the camera screen.

I kid you not, I have seen wolves before, but this was a whole new level of jaw dropping amazing. These wolves were probably around 160 pounds and their fur was absolutely stunning. They also bounded through the deep snow as smooth as a fish swims through water, just incredible. By this time the snowfall was clearing and their fur glistened in the sunlight. A moment I will never forget…but also wished I could have captured it.

DSC_5487

So with all of us being awe struck by those two beautiful creatures we continued the drive in hopes of coming across more beautiful animals.

Every turnoff my dad saw he took it, even though on his truck map you could see that it was just a loop. Every time he would get so disappointed that it was just a loop and not a road leading to somewhere cool. Eventually I pointed it out to him that before he turns he could see how long the road is and we all had a good laugh about that. Even after I showed him he kept doing it and then laughing when the road would end saying “oh well I guess I could have looked at the map”.

DSC_5489

IMG_9580

At the end of our drive we came back into town to fill up the truck, since tomorrow morning we were heading out. And the back of the truck was covered once again in snow and sand from the drive. My mom and I went into this gas station while my dad was filling the truck up to explore. Inside they had a little Tim Hortons, which I though “of course how Canadian” and the rest looked like a pretty normal gas station just with extremely high snack prices. Now these snack prices didn’t deter my mom and I haha even though my dad wasn’t too pleased with us! Girls gotta have snacks okay!

DSC_5469

We finished the night off with literally the best pizza I have had in my life. It was so good, I could have eaten it for breakfast lunch and dinner. The place was called Berro’s Pizzeria. 10/10 would recommend. I was skeptical thinking oh just another meh meal, but was I ever wrong. They had all the awards he was given up around the restaurant, which was cool to see and they also had local pictures up too. Once the pizza was done and our number was called, we dug right in. There was no time for pictures because we were starving and salivating over it. We ate breakfast that day and then just some road snacks, nothing too substantial, so you could say we were hungry!

After that very satisfying meal, we headed back out for another journey before calling it a night, which will be where I start my next post. Make sure to subscribe if you want to continue reliving my adventures.

What is the bestย  pizza you have ever had? I bet it wasn’t in the Northwest Territories! Leave me a comment below ๐Ÿ™‚

Until next time,

xoxo

The Journey to Fort Smith Continues | Part 2

The Journey to Fort Smith Continues | Part 2

Hello friends,

Today I bring to you the continuation of my ice road adventures! If you haven’t seen part 1 you can click here!

DSC_5373

Alright so we left off right after lunch on the first day. We crossed back over the frozen stretch of water to continue north to Fort Smith, NWT. Still a very snowy day, but we were on the lookout for wildlife!

In this field, my mom spotted a fox, or something, moving in the distance. It was snowing too heavy for a good long distance shot, but eventually me and my dad both saw it! haha My mom has such good eyes for wildlife.

DSC_5376

This part of the drive was definitely more stressful then the first half and I wasn’t even driving! The road was much more narrow and the scariest part wasn’t that we were driving on ice, it was the fact that now we were driving on winding roads through forested areas. Now it was beautiful for sure, however there are large trucks that just barrel down these roads, so you had to be careful coming around corners.

DSC_5386

DSC_5379

These pictures make the road look wider then it was! haha if you look closely though you can see that the majority of the tire tracks are all in the same spots and with the trees being so tall, you cannot see a thing coming at you.

DSC_5383

After driving for sometime, we crossed over another frozen body of water. At this point driving on water in a loaded down truck is getting less scary haha

DSC_5392

We could kind of see blue skies starting but it was still snowing constantly, which was fine because in the winter I love when it snows, but it also made it harder to spot wildlife!

DSC_5414

These are the signs on the other side of the frozen water. As you can see, there are strict bridge rules to follow! Even if there are no police out here to catch you! However, I assume most people respect these rules seeing as it would obviously only hurt you if you were to speed on this ice and god forbid break through or something….

DSC_5409

Oh and apparently this is also a public parking area, you know if you wanted to just chill and hangout here in the middle of nowhere for a while ๐Ÿ™‚ We saw one car parked there and it seemed like it had been there for a while! lol Not a hot spot for hanging out I guess.

DSC_5401

Anyways back into the bush we went! 172 km and we are in Fort Smith! woo lets go!

If you were driving normal speed we would have been there in no time haha funny story about this picture actually. I wanted to get the perfect shot (well as good as I could with what I was working with) and so I kicked a coffee cup out from behind the sign so there was no garbage in my picture. The fact that there was a random coffee cup laying on the ground out here really irks me though. Like who would think littering was a good idea instead of just keeping it in your car until there is a garbage can eh?

DSC_5407

I don’t know if you can see it, but there is a winding road sign as well as the speed limit through here is 40 MAX! “Take er slow boys!”

DSC_5415

By this time we are getting closer to our destination and our eyes were peeled looking for wood bison. We kept seeing all these tracks everywhere and then we saw this! A herd must have been all huddled up on this mound recently. Just seeing this was cool, but I wanted to actually see one!

DSC_5416

DSC_5421

When we got to this sign, my mom was like “take a picture because its the only one we will see” haha So I did thinking that she may be right.

And low and behold literally 2 seconds later we saw this on the side of the road. At first, we pulled over because there was a couple trucks pulled over on the shoulder and we thought maybe there was some bison in this valley area.

Well, I am sure there was, but not anymore! What you see in those two smaller pictures above are hunters and a bison….yup I am sure you can guess what happened here. Now it was a unique experience to see this but I still would of rather the bison been alive! They do use literally every part of it though, and one of these bad boys will feed a small village! It is extremely interesting to see different cultures, especially when its just a few hours north of where you live.

IMG_9578

So shortly after seeing the hunters we reached our destination. Literally like the only hotel here haha The back of the truck was packed with snow from the road. My parents said that last year the entire back of the truck was covered with a good couple inches of solid snow. It stayed on there even after we opened the back up and closed it! haha

This night we had a lovely meal at the Chinese restaurant in our hotel. One of the few places to eat here. And they had vanilla ice cream with strawberry sauce which was to die for.. just an FYI if you ever eat there ๐Ÿ˜‰

I will be back soon to continue the story of this very cool trip so stay tuned!

Until next time,

Q&A Time!ย

  1. If you could pick any age to be again what age would it be and why? I would pick to go back to when I was 7 or 8? The age you were in grade 3! haha I would love to go back to that age because firstly I miss being a kid lol but I also had a great teacher that year, Madame Jenkins. At Christmas time (my most favourite time of year, as you all very well know) she had this amazing book of christmas gnomes. She would read us a chapter everyday until break. I had never loved school that much haha story time was the best!
  2. Name one of your most embarrassing moments?ย Now let me just say, I have had quite a few haha but for now I will settle with sharing just one… to save you all from cringing too much! I grew up doing competitive gymnastics and probably around age 6 I would say, this embarrassing moment happened. I was wearing my brand new vibrant pink gym suit that had a checkered pattern on it, which I called my picnic basket suit lol, for the first time. And lucky for me, it was one of those training sessions where the ENTIRE gym does a warm up together … yup keep that in your mind. So I thought I should pee before we start! So I went to the bathroom which is right beside the main floor where everyone was, and little me forgot to lock the door. Now, with gymnastic suits you need to completely strip when you pee, oh the joy ๐Ÿ™‚ And yup you bet it happened … one of the older coaches opened up the door on me and I was exposed to the entire club! I was devastated …. little to say I didn’t wear that suit for a long time!
  3. What is one place you would love to visit and why?ย I would absolutely love to visit New York in the winter time. Specifically around Christmas! Now, I know this may be very “basic” or whatever, but it would make my heart so happy! To see all their decorations and lights! ๐Ÿ™‚ I just picture myself in the movie ELF haha one day I will check this off my list!
  4. If you could only pick one food item to eat for the rest of your life, what would it be?ย Now this is a hard one! I love food #foodie โค but I think I might have to go with pizza? I make a mean homemade pizza and its always so good! So maybe? But I also love a good hearty bowl of homemade spag! (spag = spaghetti …. whaddup father unit (aka Howard) <– probably makes the best sauce)
  5. What is your favourite thing about blogging?ย I love many things about blogging, but my favourite thing at the moment would have to be the little community I have made on here! I have made great friends and I always look forward to our little chats in the comment section!
  6. What is your current favourite song to listen to? This is difficult because, as my sister knows oh too well, I am terrible at knowing song names or artists lol I can’t even think of any right off the top of my head that I know! sorry ๐Ÿ˜› I do like a mix of a lot of music though, with my favourite being old rock, country (grew up in Alberta I can’t help it!), and acoustic/contemporary.
  7. What can you binge watch all day?ย 100% Greys Anatomy all the way. I love that show! I also absolutely love The Office though hah there is never an episode where you aren’t crying because you are laughing too hard!
  8. Name one of your biggest pet peeves?ย I have a couple but one of them is people who chew with their mouth open! I cannot stand it!
  9. So far what have you done for the day?ย  Well today is Friday and I am off work for the day which is nice! I woke up, worked out, ate breakfast, showered, got ready, and now I am at Starbucks writing this!
  10. Which season is your favourite and why?ย Well if Christmas was a season itself I would say that, but it isn’t lol. So I would have to say summer. I grew up being outside 24/7 and it makes me appreciate having a few months (more then a few months if you don’t live in Canada haha) where you can do that everyday!

Phew! I am finally done the questions!

My questions for the nominees are:ย

  1. Do you have any pets? If so, what do you have and if not what pet would you like?
  2. Where were you born and where are you currently living?
  3. What do you believe is your greatest life accomplishment so far?
  4. What is your best childhood memory?
  5. What is your favourite sweet treat?
  6. What are 2 goals you have set for yourself this year?
  7. What is your dream job and what are you doing to get yourself there?
  8. If you could have a conversation with anyone, dead or alive, who would it be?
  9. Why did you start blogging?
  10. Tropical vacation, snowy vacation, or alpine vacation and why?

Now for the nominees! Here we go, I tag:ย Rebecca Rose, Miss Andrada, Bryanna Sherbo, The Untitled One, and Sarah Scarr!ย If you would like to read their responses to these questions I have linked all their blogs with their names! ๐Ÿ™‚

I hope you all enjoyed this post and getting to know me a bit better! Nominees you are tagged so get blogging! Friends in the comment section, feel free to answer some or all of the questions too, I would love to hear your answers!

Have a fabulous weekend friends ๐Ÿ™‚

Until next time,

xoxo

Two Jack Lake | December 2017

Two Jack Lake | December 2017

Hello friends,

In todays post I will start to go through our trip that we just went on for New Years!

We hit the road on the early morning of the 28th of December, 2017. Heading out from Calgary Alberta, Canada to Banff, Alberta Canada for New Years! I told my boyfriend I wanted to be in Canmore, AB for breakfast and sunrise because I wanted nice sunrise mountain pictures. However, things did not go as planned. I saw on the weather network that it was suppose to snow all day, but I thought maybe it would start a bit later….well it didn’t. We got to Canmore for what would have been sunrise, but it was a cloudy snowy day! I was sad, obviously, but I still went out and took pictures haha

We ate that morning at The Summit Cafe in Canmore. It was a quaint little place that had pretty decent food! The only restaurant to ever ask me if I wanted 6 or 12 pieces of fruit when I ordered a fruit bowl on the side! Lots of options on the menu and you could add baileys to any drink! haha I would have but we didn’t see that sign until we already ordered! Once we were done with that meal, we headed out into the snow. The roads were in bad conditions because of all the ice and snow, so driving around on all these back roads we were super careful! We saw many cars in the ditches, not due to accidents, but because they were driving too fast for the road conditions.

The first place we decided to head to was Two Jack Lake. While the boy was finishing eating, I was googling best places for a great view in Canmore despite the fact that you couldn’t really see at all that day! I wish we would of had better weather because then we could have went to some really cool places for pictures!

So we headed up the road. Of course I was a nervous passenger because we were heading up this skinny, winding mountain road covered in snow…but the driver was alright you could say ๐Ÿ˜‰

DSC_4386

Finally we arrived at our destination. I hopped out so quick! Even though it was roughly -25 C without the wind chill….let’s just say the boyfriend stayed in the car while I froze my butt off!

DSC_4385

DSC_4387

DSC_4389

There was so many water spots (more like snow spots lol) on these pictures because of how much it was snowing! It took me so long to edit them! I would wipe my lens off before, during, and after every location, but it did nothing.

DSC_4383

DSC_4380

Maybe one day in the future I will put a before and after post up of some pictures, because some of these look quite different after editing them! I was not even sure if I would be able to use them in a post. I tried to clear them up the best that I could!

DSC_4375

DSC_4374

All of these pictures (except the road ones) I was standing in the same spot just turning a bit to give a different perspective.

DSC_4373

DSC_4369

I would love to drive back up here on a clear day and see the amazing view! I am sure its stunning. I imagine mountains all in the background, because in some pictures you can kind of see them hiding in the snow fall!

Do you enjoy stopping at look offs when you are on road trips? I stop at ones I have already been to before just because views like these never seize to amaze me! Make sure to subscribe by going to the top right corner if you want to see/hear more about our trip!

Until next time,

17 Things 2017 Taught Me

17 Things 2017 Taught Me

Hello friends,

In today’s post I will be sharing a few things that I have learnt in 2017. This year was an interesting one to say the least. Some things did not go as planned, both a mix of better than expected and worse, but none the less it’s all life lessons.

  1. There are many stepping stones in life.ย Your first job won’t be your last, so just be grateful that you are employed.
  2. Everything takes time.ย You can’t rush anything in life. I can’t rush into an amazing environmental career just like I can’t make this blog blow up in a day. You need to work hard towards what you want and in time you will get there.
  3. Saying no is harder then saying yes.ย We have all been in situations where you don’t want to say yes, but saying no feels impossible. Well its not, so next time you want to say no try it out.
  4. Its okay to do things that scare you. Breaking out of your comfort zone is scary but amazing. It will do wonders for you. If I never broke out of mine, I would not have this blog today or be able to share it on facebook for my family to see.
  5. When in doubt listen to your little voice inside you, it probably knows what its talking about. Unless you have anxiety like me, then sometimes you have to ignore it and go grab experiences by the …. well you know ๐Ÿ™‚
  6. Less friends = more.ย  I have never had a large friend group and I don’t need one. I love having a few close friends who are truly there for me.
  7. Don’t be afraid to do things by yourself.ย  This year I have really started to do this and it was challenging at first (and still is sometimes). I go exploring for pictures by myself and also edit/write in coffee shops alone. Now I am growing to love me time.
  8. You’ll grow as a person every year.ย  Its okay.
  9. Don’t judge people. Everyone around you has a story that you have no clue about.
  10. You are stronger than you think.ย Until you are pushed, you will never truly be able to know what you can handle.
  11. Don’t waste your energy on things you can’t control.ย  This is something I need to work on.
  12. Stop overthinking every little thing about your life.ย  Another biggie I need to work on, I have over thought way to much about my life so far. I am young and need to chill out.
  13. There are unlimited things to learn in life.ย  You are never to old to learn!
  14. Listen to your elders even if you just met them, they have some life experience that you don’t.ย  I have met some very intelligent people this year that have come into my life for one conversation and let me tell you, some things they have told me have stuck.
  15. You will never have your life perfectly worked out so just relax and enjoy the ride.ย  Go with the flow! Life is not perfect and neither are you!
  16. If you aren’t afraid to roll up your sleeves you will never lose your shirt. (Love ya dad)
  17. Believe in yourself. It does not mater if everyone else believes in you, if you don’t, nothing will happen.

Let me know if any of these resonate with you and if there are any other things you have learnt in 2017 that we can add to the list! Leave them in the comments below ๐Ÿ™‚

I hope you all learnt at least one thing in 2017 and that you can use it to improve in 2018!

Until next time,

xoxo

On the Hunt for Christmas Lights! | 2017

On the Hunt for Christmas Lights! | 2017

Hello friends,

So last night I went on an adventure to find Christmas lights. Firstly, because I love looking at them and secondly, because I have not done a post with pictures in a little bit! I ran out of pictures from previous trips we went on in the summer and with working two jobs, it is hard to find time to go out and get pictures. However, last night I got my lazy butt up and got some pictures for you guys!

DSC_4290 (1)

Now let me just say, I have never really done night pictures before so don’t judge me too harshly. Over time, and with a lot more practice, they will look better I promise!

DSC_4296

Most of these pictures are from a community called Legacy in Calgary. I thought they did a pretty good job with their display. Although the other side of the road had lights too but they were not lit up .. so I am not sure what happened there!

DSC_4294

DSC_4302

The next few pictures I was trying to get artsy, but I have not quite mastered that yet! haha

I am pretty sure in the next picture there are three elves and a present, but because of the trees in the background it is kind of hard to tell!

This gazebo was so beautiful and I actually came across it by mistake! I was trying to get back to the main road, but instead I turned the wrong way and drove up to this! So of course I got out and explored a bit. It was lit up so nicely right in the centre of all these houses!

Do you guys drive around at Christmas time looking at lights and trying to find the best ones? Maybe grab a hot chocolate or two? Let me know in the comments below! ๐Ÿ™‚

Until next time,

Christmas Blessings | 2017

Christmas Blessings | 2017

Hello friends,

Todays post will be about all the many things I feel blessed for. Christmas is absolutely my favourite time of the year, even though it is snowy and cold outside! I got the post idea from Susie Lindau’s Wild Ride, click here for her post!

I thought to myself as I was reading her post, wow this is such a great idea to write about around Christmas time. I feel like so many people say what they are thankful for around thanksgiving, but during Christmas everyone is so busy it is easy to forget what it is really about. Now I love Christmas lights and decorations so I can get distracted by those around this time of the year, but it really is not about any of that. And believe it or not, Christmas is not about gifts either. However, I understand that giving gifts is a way of showing love towards another person, but we cannot get caught up in them!

Christmas is truly about being around your family and celebrating life and love and the joy that this season brings. So without any more delay, here are some of the things I feel very blessed to have in my life:

I feel very blessed to have my amazing family, boyfriend & friends in my life …

My lovely older sister ๐Ÿ™‚

My man ๐Ÿ˜‰

My friends ๐Ÿ™‚

My parents of course!ย

And you can’t forget about the fur babies too!

I feel very blessed to be in such good health

And for the roof over my head at night and food in my belly.

I feel very blessed to be surrounded by the beauty of the rockies just an hour away

And all of the wildlife I have been able to see my entire life.

I feel so blessed that I have been able to travel even though I am so young and just starting out.

I hope you enjoyed this little post and let me know in the comments below what you feel blessed for this Christmas year. Also, some of these pictures may not be the best quality, but that is not what this post is really about ๐Ÿ™‚

Until next time,

xoxo
